Our Board of Management
Role of Committee: The role of the committee is to oversee the daily operations of the Masaka Cycling Club. The committee is headed by Chairman Mr Miiro Michael and the structure addresses all aspects of club operations including the planning for the club, domestic & national race calendar for both men and women. We pride ourselves on being inclusive and caring for the welfare of both club members and vulnerable members of the community.
Role of Patron’s & Donors: This is a support role to the committee chairman. Patron members and donors are briefed on current challenges then set about breaking down the barriers to those challenges. Some of those elements include access to equipment, fundraising, identifying cycling pathways and global engagement.
Madam Aisha - Our crown jewel and Clubhouse Manager. Aisha deals with so much day to day. Her role is challenging and exciting. Aisha supports the Board, Coaches & Riders with everything they need. Her resilience and tolerance levels are to be admired. We are so lucky to have her overseeing all.
Our Coaches
Development Coach - Mubiri Peter & Women’s/Girls Coach - Kalema Joseph
Coach Peter & Coach Kalema are beautiful caring humans first and foremost. They nurture young male and female riders into the system, educate them about the joys of cycling and set about building skill programs to help them progress in the sport. Every single cyclist in the program passes through these two coaches. We are so grateful for their support and dedication to the sport.
Elite Coach Owen Fidler - Owen is Australian based in Beijing China. He also works at the International School of Beijing, is a qualified cycling coach with a Sports Science Degree. Owen works closely with development coach Peter and communicates daily with all the riders through TrainingPeaks and WhatsApp. Owen has visited the clubhouse and region and is very familiar with the daily challenges of riders. We couldn’t do any of this without him.
